However, you should be aware that it is the heavier than other types of helmet. Full-face helmets are highly preferable by racers owing to the fact that they minimize the wind resistance due to it's sleek surface.

Another type is three quarter shell motorcycle helmets differs from previous one by the feature that it doesn't wrap around the face. The shell extends from the brow over the cranium to the base of the neck and forward over the ears. This helmet can be easily removed if needed and can provide with high level of protection.

If your sport activity implies obligatory communication with others you can choose such types of helmet as three quarter shell helmets. These motorcycle helmets cover only the top half of the cranium, they are lightweight, do not block the ears, however, they offer least level of protection. This kind of helmet is usually doesn't preferred by racers and riders of touring bikes because of this reason and it is more frequently worn in cases when not required by state law.
